Well folks, we’ve come to the middle of August which means that our lovely couple, Alyssa and Riley, have officially been married for just over two weeks. If you remember, Riley and Alyssa have been friends for a few years throughout college. However, they didn’t begin dating until after mission trips to South Africa. You see, while Riley and Alyssa knew that they meant for one another, they both wanted to work on their relationship with the Lord first. Riley and Alyssa have worked so hard on solidifying a relationship with God so that they could be the best husband and wife to one another. From the start of their relationship to Riley’s proposal in May (of this year) and beyond and up to their amazing day at the most amazing and gorgeous venue, everything couldn’t have gone smoother.
Riley and Alyssa not only joined together as one but also brought their family and friends together. I was able to spend a bit of time with Alyssa and her bridesmaids earlier in the day. There were so many laughs and feelings of love and support. While the mimosas flowed in their customized bridesmaid glasses, I was able to capture all of the fun that they were having. Afterward, I sped off to capture details and Alyssa’s special moment getting prepped and ready at the venue. One of my favorite moments was when Alyssa and her bridesmaids helped her prep by putting on a piece of her jewelry. Alyssa also did a first look with her dad in which I had to blink back serious tears of happiness. His reaction is the perfect and quintessential reaction that a father should have when seeing his daughter at her most beautiful.
The rest of the day progressed amazingly and we captured everything from their gorgeous first kiss to some amazing and dramatic sunset portraits. Their reception was an absolute blast and while the bridesmaids were supportive and sweet, the groomsmen were a riot. You’ll notice there are a lot of amazing dance moves from the boys breaking it down on the dance floor and from Alyssa’s father, who went all out.
It was such an amazing day and the long drive home was perfect with a big moon and the latest Kasey Musgraves album along with a ton of country roads.
