A Summertime Wedding at Fowler House Mansion in Lafayette, Indiana

Love stories don’t always begin in college or even high school. Sometimes they begin earlier. Brandon and Aubry are a couple that first met one another when they were much much younger in grade school and continued their friendship and relationship into high school. Of course, life has a way of taking two people in different areas and it wasn’t until they reconnected at a college party did things become very serious. So serious that we have a summertime wedding at Fowler House Mansion in Lafayette, Indiana.

This wedding was an intimate glance into two people who have known one another for 25 years. Accompanied by their closest family and friends, people flew in from all around the states to celebrate with Aubry and Brandon.

have such an elegant feel to them. The house, nearly 200 years old, has been brought back to life by the 1852 Foundation is now houses and homes many events for the community. Even with the pandemic and restrictions across the globe, it felt as if we had been transported back in time in this historic mansion that is so filled with life and love on event days.

The wedding day went smoothly, with lots of help and planning from my wife Felicia, with Emerald Lotus Events, the bride, and the mothers of the bride and groom, Patty and Alice. Their hard work and attention to detail ensured that everything from the eucalyptus and rose center pieces, to the lavender, teal, and silver accents and theme colors shone through perfectly. Each moment of the day felt curated as if it really were a movie.

Of course, every good movie isn’t a good movie without an antagonist. The antagonist this day in July, was a thunderstorm that rolled through, minutes before the ceremony. Hail pounded north of town and straight line winds took down buildings south of Lafayette. Thankfully, the quick efforts of the staff at Fowler House Mansion, along with help from the coordinator and a mutual team effort, avoided disaster and 20 minutes later, Aubry and Brandon were off to get married in beautiful post-storm sunlight.

Dinner tasted excellent and their guests enjoyed salmon, ribeye, and chicken, along with lots of tasty sides, thanks to Fowler House Kitchen’s new chef. Afterward, cake, dancing, and lots of catching up ensued.

The couple left in style and class after a beautiful glow stick exit. Aubry and Brandon have had to postpone their honeymoon Fiji plans but are still taking a lovely trip, in first class, to Florida for an inclusive week long stay at a luxury resort.

Best wishes to you both, Aubry and Brandon! Thank you for allowing us to capture your amazing day and for always being down for an adventure! Be sure to check out their engagement session from last Summer!

Much Love,

Nate
