Blaine & Thomas – A Downtown Lafayette, Indiana engagement session

Not every engagement is sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes you’ve got unexpected storms ahead. The latter was true for our engagement session with Blaine and Thomas in downtown Lafayette, Indiana this past Tuesday.

Blaine and Thomas first met at the movie theatre they worked at around 6 years ago. Being inseparable since, these two have since evolved their careers and their relationship and are getting married on the most popular date of the year, October 10, 2020 at the Historic Fowler House Mansion in Lafayette, Indiana.

Fowler House is near and dear to my heart as my wife spent quite a bit of time there in her career helping to grow the events and marketing. I was connected with Blaine and Thomas because of my connections to the Fowler House and am so grateful that I was.

These two have such a fun chemistry. It’s a super chill feeling to be around two people who love each other so much and just have such excellent chemistry. Our plan to shoot at the murals downtown quickly was interrupted by the rain so we ducked into the Knickerbocker Saloon, Lafayette’s oldest bar! Later, we decided to head over to Riehle Plaza with another storm front flying in at us quickly. We were able to grab a few images on the bridge before we got soaked headed back to their apartment. Thankfully, they have kitties so we were greeted by them and took a moment to chill even further with some at home cozy goodness complete with Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and some couch cuddles.

Finally, the rain cleared again and we finished our session at Happy Hollow Park in West Lafayette.

While this session was golden skies and clear weather, it was still amazing and I cannot wait to celebrate with these two this October! Thank you both so much for trusting me to capture your special moments and for being so flexible with the weather (hello, Indiana!)
