An Intimate Bonneville Salt Flats Elopement

Kerry and Jonathan are word traveling baddies who live in the Big Apple. After receiving her proposal, these two went on a hunt to find the perfect place to be wed. And that place just happened to in Utah. They reached out via Google on my website and we made this perfect Intimate Bonneville Salt Flats Elopement a dream that actually came true.

Jonathan and Kerry have big hearts. They’re both in the social work field. Jonathan works in the school system while Kerry works in a private practice but also serves in a local New York non-profit for social working. Between the two of them, they have everything that they could ever need to create a successful and perfectly beautiful marriage.

What I especially admired about these two is how absolutely in tune they are with one another. And it’s not in the loud way but through their connection, their unspoken agreements and communication, and through the way that you can just see in one another’s eyes that these two were soulmates in every instance of existence across every lifetime.

To host an intimate Bonneville Salt Flats elopement you’re going to need a few things.

An epic AirBnB–most likely in Salt Lake City.

You’re going to need a hair and makeup artist.

You’ll want a cake.

For sure you’re going to need decor and setup.

You’re going to have to wear some beautiful wedding day clothes.

And you’ll have to hire an excellent photographer who is your personal paparazzi cheerleader the entire time you’re out west.

And if you’re really slick, you might even consider hiring a fine art wedding painter for your intimate Bonneville Salt Flats elopement so you can not only have beautiful and timeless portraits but an ACTUAL PAINTING to hang up in your space for your entire lifetime.

These two had and did all of these things. And everything about this experience was just so easy and stress-free.

The weather was absolutely stunning for our time out in Salt Lake and it made for not only a beautiful an intimate Bonneville Salt Flats elopement and wedding ceremony–but also for epic adventure portraits in the Utah Mountains the day prior to their wedding.

On their wedding day I stopped by one of my favorite SLC hot spots, Sodalicious, which is a soda shop that creates “dirty sodas” which are basically sodas with extra flavorings, cream, or energy drinks mixed with other fun flavors. I picked us all up some dirty sodas based around their preferences and made it to their AirBnB.

Now when I say that this was an intimate Bonneville Salt Flats elopement, I mean it. It was truly the most intimate because it was just the two of these cuties, our amazing decorator and my good friend, Trish, owner of Rustic Urban Goods, our wonderful wedding painter, and me.

We arrived out at the salt flats, took a short water and potty break, and then headed out to Trish’s beautiful setup for Jonathan and Kerry.

After meeting Lyssa, the wedding painter, we prepped and before you know it, Kerry was walking down the aisle to their Spotify wedding playlist which included such hits as “Young and Beautiful”, “Helena”, and even Marc Antony. This perfectly eclectic mix of pop-punk orchestrals, reggaeton, and a whole lotta Bad Bunny, just made their day even sweeter.

Their first dance is one I will always remember because it was one of the first weddings I’ve had a couple salsa dance. And it was perfect of course.

They enjoyed a champagne toast, cake cutting, and of course it just wouldn’t be an intimate elopement at the Bonneville Salt Flats with New Adventure Productions unless we stopped at In-N-Out Burger on the way back home.

After their wedding these two continued on in Utah and explored more of the beautiful and surrounding landscapes before finishing up their trip in Las Vegas and flying home.

It was such an honor and a privilege to meet, get to know Jonathan and Kerry, and to document their love story and perfect wedding day.

Thank you both, you lovely angels.

A huge thank you to all the wonderful wedding vendors that made their day all that it was.
